Over the years, he has gained extensive experience with various methodologies and production technologies. He ensures the goal is clear from the process’s outset and maintains this focus until the end.
“I enjoy bringing people together and fostering collaboration. I see product development as jointly laying a puzzle, where listening to and working with all stakeholders is key. Solving problems and making iterations until all the puzzle pieces fit together more and more beautifully.”
Mats is a true team player who knows how to keep everyone involved. He believes that when each team member feels ownership of their building block, that’s when magic happens.

MATS’ STRENGTH
Mats thrives in guiding the development process as the “spider in the web”. He builds trust within the team and encourages openness, even when things aren’t going as planned. “Innovation inherently involves uncertainty. There will be things you don’t know, mistakes will be made, and you’ll learn along the way. I create an atmosphere of ‘we’re in this together’. If someone doesn’t know something, it’s important to be honest about it. That way, we can learn it ourselves or bring in an expert to fill the gap.”
Mats radiates enthusiasm while maintaining a businesslike approach, especially regarding commitments. He monitors progress, timeline, and budget, leading his team to the final goal.

With over fifteen years of experience in product innovation, Mats possesses a broad technical knowledge. He has led complex projects for companies of all sizes, from multinationals to start-ups.
Mats loves craftsmanship and materials; in his free time, he enjoys creating beautiful objects from wood. He also realized a long-cherished dream by founding his lamp brand, ikitree, featuring porcelain lamp designs of his own creation.
